Aha, Me Hearties!

"I am a pirate. I love being a pirate, because I can catch people and lock them in a cage. I have two swords and some treasure,"
said Monique.

Love your new hat, Fred!

"I like being a bull because I can run and chase people,"
said Fred.

A Winner!

At Assembly Daniel was awarded his Certificate
for winning Cross Country at Omarama.

Monstera Deliciosa (Swiss Cheese Plant)

Our large plant is getting so big it is getting damaged when we walk past it, so it is going to a new home at Lesley's house.
Ms Douglas is sad to see it go because when she rescued it, it had been left outside overnight in a frost and it's leaves all fell off.
Each new leaf has more holes in it than the previous one. The latest leaf had nine holes.
Lesley said she will start a new one from it's suckers.

Our plant just fitted into the back seat of
Lesley's car!

Friday Final Assembly for Term

At Assembly we watched a slideshow of our
School Ski Team.

Eddie, Bailey, Emily and Brook got a Certificate

Brook's Last Day

Today is Brook's last day at school. At the end of the holidays he is shifting to Canada with his family. It will be Winter when he arrives there and there may be snow on the ground. We will miss you Brook, but your Mum said you can write to us or email us.  Keep in touch. :-)

We had a picnic to say "Farewell" to Brook.

New Carpet.

Last day  of Term! When we come back next term we should have new carpet in our classroom. We have been busy shifting everything out so that the carpet layers can come in and lay some new carpet. Laying carpet sounds a funny thing to say. Hens lay eggs, so I wonder where carpets come from?
We are also getting new carpet in the corridors. This time, they are going to use carpet tiles so that if a part wears out, it will be easier to replace.
It's going to be exciting!

The room is getting emptied out.

Visitors from the Early Learning Centre

Here are Kittie and Jasper on one of their visits to school. They are riding on our pink class unicorn. Her name is Goldie. I wonder if you can guess why?

When she arrived in Room 7 everyone had different ideas about a name  for her, so we had a vote, and Goldie won.
But why was Goldie our favourite choice?
(Because her horn and hooves are gold.)

Charlie's Birthday

Happy Birthday Charlie!
5 years old and you've started your school life today.

Rain! Rain! Rain!

RAIN
Today it rained!
Lovely rain.
First rainfall in weeks.
We didn't need to water our daffodils today.
The rain did it for us.
Our Daffodils loved the rain!

I hope there was enough rain to help fill the Lakes. They  need water for the Hydro Power.

Recycling!

A historic day for Twizel today as we had our first
wheelie bin collection. Twizel has moved from
recycling using different coloured plastic bags to
using different sized wheelie bins.

Changing Sheds

The changing sheds have been
upgraded, painted and had a deck
added to the front.
The deck will  provide shelter from
the weather.
