Ice Skating at Tekapo Springs

We went on our ice skating trip today.
The rain held off until we were walking out of the rink
and down to the car park.
 Lucky.

Days of Grey Days and Fog

What a lot of grey gloomy, rainy, foggy days we have had.
It must be a record for Twizel.
So nice to see the sun on Thursday 16th.
And on Friday 17th.
And on Saturday 18th.
On Thursday we played outside.

Olympics 2012

What an interesting week this has been!
Medals won by the unexpected and lost by the expected.
Must be the Olympics.
I was reading today that Peter Snell was a rank outsider when he won his medal in Rome in 1962.
***
Haven't we done well, though!
Ten (10) medals at the moment.
Our 100th medal combined Olympics tally.
***
The children have been doing lots of learning
and finding out
-about the Olympics
-about different sports
-about different countries
-about the world around us

The Train track.

Kyle, Ryan and James,
(from other classrooms,)
made this long train track,
with a very long bridge.
Room 7 children thought it was awesome!

Olympics

We have been learning about
the Olympics.
We coloured in the
5 Olympic rings on the flag.
We made a book about the Olympic torch.
We coloured in the mascots.
We found out about the sports they do.

Colour wheel.

We made a colour wheel.
We painted one segment yellow,
one segment red,
and one segment blue.
Then we made green, orange and purple.
We used our colour wheels to make the centre
of our "Colour Wheel " clowns.
We had fun painting our colourful clowns.
