Arts in Action Week

Word Wall
Everyone who attends Twizel Area School or works at school may paint a word that symbolizes school for them. This is then displayed on the Word Wall.

Room 7 children painted their words for the Word Wall today.
We went to the Art Room.
Mrs Frost helped them.

First, we had to plan our word on paper.

We drew our design onto canvas.

Then we painted them.
We had to use the three school colours,
red black and white, and could mix them.

Our pictures are drying.
At lunchtime other students also painted words for the word wall.

Arts in Action week is a yearly occasion with the focus on one aspect of Art. It involves both class time and lunchtimes.
Activities may take place at school, in the market square, or at the Event Centre.

Mobile Phones.

Finn's mother gave us some boxes so the class
made camouflaged mobile phones out of them.
Some children made designer phones of the future
with straws to use to have a drink when you are thirsty.
Just 'dial up a drink!'

SunSmart Prizes

Chelsea and Jessica awarded prizes for the SunSmart competitions at our Junior assembly today.

Bailey and Monique each won  a prize.
Bailey won a SunSmart bag.
Monique won a SunSmart frisbee.
It changes colour in the sun.
A dark orange means there is a lot of UV radiation around.
