Guy Fawkes!
Be careful with Fireworks this weekend. There is a fire Display at the Youth Centre Grounds this evening. The Twizel Volunteer Fire Brigade is hosting the evening.
It has been snowing and raining throughout the day so hopefully the fire risk will be low.

The truck picked the skip up and lifted
it up to the top of the truck.
It was noisy.

Upper Waitaki Athletic Sports 3rd November 2011
Yay! The weather forecast was for snow! At this time of the year! Fortunately it didn't happen and the sun shone so we all took part in the Athletic Sports. The wind was cold and blew the buckets we were using as skittles right across the court. They moved like bucket turtles.
Bowling the ball at the buckets.

In the accuracy throw we used wet sponges
to throw at the bulls eye.
Thank you Mr white for making our new
target boards.
Lots of people used the new deck to sit
on and view the activities.
Army visits Twizel 2nd November 2011
Two NZ Army LAV's visited Twizel as part of an army exercise in the area. They parked in the car park. Lots of classes went to visit them.
A LAV is a Light Armoured Vehicle.
Fred got to go into the drivers seat.
It is high on top of the tank, but
the soldiers looked after us.
the soldiers looked after us.
The seats look very hard in the back!
We are talking about camouflage with Ms McNeill. She showed us the camouflage nets on top of the tank.
Bailey got to wear an Army helmet. __________________________________________________

Planting seeds.
We planted some radish seeds today. Ms Douglas hopes it will get warm enough for them to grow big enough to eat by the holidays. The radish seeds were round and pinkish.
We planted some carrot seeds today. Maybe they will grow large enough to thin by the Christmas holidays. The carrot seeds were brown. They were smaller than the radish seeds.
