Love Birds

Shelton's Mum brought along some baby
Love Birds to show us.
The bigger ones are five weeks old,
and the smallest one is three and a half weeks old.
When they are born they have no feathers,
but then the feathers begin to grow.
They are covered in a little plastic sheath when they
come through and the birds have to pull this off
so the feathers can come out.

This one has a tag on its leg.
This bird has most of its feathers,
but it still needs the feathers around the neck to grow.
Love birds can be trained to talk.
Love Bird eggs are small.

 Love Birds are beautiful.
They belong to the parrot family
and originally came from Africa.
Love Birds can live for 15 to 20 years old.
Some can live older.
