We had some shepherds purse growing in our garden, so we pulled it out. Ms Douglas says it is called Shepherd's Purse because the seed pods look like old fashioned purses.
Her Dad told her that the little purses are where the fairies keep their money. If you open one up and look at the seeds they are tiny and look like coins. The seeds are green or white or golden, depending on their age.
